Hydration Guidelines

Base: ~30 mL/kg/day. Increase with exercise (+500–1000 mL/hr of exercise) and hot climate. General rule: 2–3 liters for most adults. Pale yellow urine indicates good hydration. Thirst is a late indicator. Excess water (> 1L/hr) risks hyponatremia.
