Estimate test accuracy by timing and hCG level.
Home pregnancy tests detect hCG in urine. Implantation occurs ~9 DPO, then hCG doubles every 48h. First morning urine is most concentrated. Standard tests (25 mIU/mL) are reliable at 14 DPO (~day of missed period). Earlier testing may miss early pregnancies.
