ARDSNet: Vt = 6 mL/kg PBW for ARDS. Standard: 6–8 mL/kg PBW. PBW (Devine): Males = 50 + 2.3×(height in inches − 60). Females = 45.5 + 2.3×(height in inches − 60). Use PBW, not actual weight – obese patients get the same Vt as lean patients of the same height.
