Burn fluid resuscitation in the first 24 hours.
Total fluids (mL) = 4 × weight (kg) × %TBSA burned. Give half in the first 8 hours from time of burn, the remaining half over the next 16 hours. Use Lactated Ringer's solution. Titrate to urine output (0.5–1 mL/kg/hr in adults, 1 mL/kg/hr in children). The formula is a starting point – adjust based on clinical response.
